Green Hills Foods Safflower Oil is extracted from the safflower seed via expeller pressed. The by product is rich in essential fatty acids and is an excellent source energy. Our safflower oil is refined resulting in a clear honey colour oil with a bland odour and taste. The oils higher Oleic acid content makes the oil more stable and resistant to oxidation.
Safflower flowers are occasionally used in cooking as a cheaper substitute for saffron, and were sometimes referred to as "bastard saffron". In dietary use, high–linoleic safflower oil has also been shown to increase adiponectin, a protein that helps regulate blood glucose levels and fatty-acid breakdown
