Green Hills Foods Himalayan Black Salt or (Kala Namak) is a type of rock salt with a salty and pungent-smelling condiment that is used through South Asia. It is found mostly in the Himalayas of Nepal. The condiment is composed largely of sodium chloride with several other components lending the salt its colour and smell.
The smell is mainly due to its sulfur content. Because of the presence of Iron 1, 2 and sulfide in the mineral, it forms brownish pink to dark violet translucent crystals when whole. When ground into a powder, its color ranges from purple to pink. Himalayan black salt has a Distinctive egg-like due to its sulfur content. The salt is also used for creating vegan egg-free versions of recipes.
Kala Namak is considered a cooling spice for the body and can also be used as a laxative and digestive aid. It is also believed to relieve flatulence and heartburn. Black Himalayan Salt (Kala Namak) is the most beneficial form of salt because unlike ordinary salt, it doesn't increase the sodium content of blood and is therefore recommended for patients with high blood pressure and low-salt eating dieters It is also use by persons suffering from goiters and hysteria for making toothpastes by combining it with other mineral and plant ingredients.
