Brewer's Yeast are derived from the fermentation of beer. Such fermentation involves using grain (rice, wheat, etc.) malt, active yeast and the dried flowers of hops. The addition of hops to the fermentation gives a characteristic flavour to beer but imparts a bitter taste to the dried Brewer's Yeast obtained as a by-product. Brewer’s yeast is a typical favourite of those practicing a vegetarian diet because of the proteins and numerous B-complex vitamins that it provides. These vitamins are usually found in beef, fish and poultry. Brewer’s yeast contains small organisms (microflora) that help maintain the proper functioning of the digestive tract.  It is also rich source of chromium, which may help your body maintain normal blood sugar levels.*

The probiotic characteristics of brewer’s yeast may make it an effective way to aid diarrhoea. It has been commonly used by persons with disorders of the digestive tract, including:

Directions: For adults, take one (1) tablespoon (15 g) one to four times daily. Mix in milk, fruit juice, soups or chopped meat. Its superb taste means you can sprinkle it on salads, cottage cheese, yogurt and other foods. Use it in cooking meat loaves, casseroles and many other dishes.
