The most common type of Alum available in the market is Potassium alum. The scientific name of potassium alum is hydrated potassium aluminum sulfate.

Alum powder (Potassium aluminum sulfate) is typically found in the spice department of supermarkets and grocery stores. It’s a versatile salt that aids baking leavening, has antibacterial properties, and helps maintain the crispness of fruits or vegetables.
