Green Hills Foods Soy Sauce (also called soya sauce) is a condiment made from a fermented paste of boiled soybeans. The naturally fermented soy sauce spray dried on a maltodextrin carrier. Green Hills Foods dehydrated soy sauce is a light tan, free flowing powder that is completely soluble in water. Has a mild authentic flavour and aroma of soy sauce. This Soy Sauce Powder contains only Soybeans and Salt.
It originated in China in the 2nd century BCE and spread throughout East Asia where it is used in cooking and as a condiment. Like many salty condiments, soy sauce was used as a salt substitute, historically an expensive commodity.
Soy sauce is found to possess a very high amount of shoyu flavones, a natural antioxidant.
